Current Pathway Programs
LNA/LPN at Central VT Medical Center
CCV is partnering with Vermont Tech and CVMC to provide a pathway for incumbent LNAs to become LPNs. LNAs complete prerequisite coursework at CCV and continue to Vermont Tech to earn their LPN license. There are currently 18 CVMC LNAs enrolled in this program.
Pharmacy Tech Apprenticeship
In fall 2019, CCV launched its Pharmacy Technician Apprenticeship program with 14 participants statewide. The apprenticeship pairs three college-level courses with on-the-job training. Partnering pharmacies include Smiling Steve Pharmacies in Rutland, Ludlow, and Springfield, and CVS, Walgreens, and Shaw’s statewide.
Allied Health Prep with Vermont Tech
Designed for students beginning at CCV and planning to transfer into allied health programs at other institutions, the Allied Health Preparation certificate is a pathway into degree programs such as Vermont Tech’s programs in dental hygiene, respiratory therapy, and nursing. More than 70% of recent Vermont Tech nursing graduates began their college careers at CCV.
Medical Assisting at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital (BMH)
In response to a workforce shortage, CCV and BMH developed a program to prepare qualified candidates for jobs as medical assistants. BMH provides full scholarships to eight successful applicants to the program, and recipients are hired as medical assistants at the Hospital upon completion of the program.
Healthcare Support Services at BMH and Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center
CCV partners with BHM to help with recruitment for environmental services positions. The program recently expanded to include food/nutrition services. Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center is also utilizing the program, which guarantees jobs upon successful completion.
Community Health Program
In partnership with the Vermont Department of Health, the Community College of Vermont is offering FREE tuition and fees to students in our community health certificate program. Start with CCV’s certificate program and use your earned credits toward the behavioral health or health science associate degree programs.
