- Faculty member Helen Schmidt is currently featured in the art event “Finding and Gloamings: New Prints and Watercolors by Helen Schmidt and Finn Campman” at the Currey Center at the Putney School. The event began with an opening reception on January 10th, and will run until 3/30. Schmidt is teaching Printmaking I during spring 2020.
- CCV celebrated its 50th anniversary at the State House on January 22nd. Governor Phil Scott, CCV President Joyce Judy, Representative and CCV alum Dylan Giambatista, and Senator and CCV faculty member Ginny Lyons offered remarks at a reception, which was, followed by birthday cake and the reading of a Senate Concurrent Resolution on the House floor. - Faculty member Daniel Alcorn was recently promoted to assistant professor at Norwich University. The current program director for the B.S. in Management Studies and B.S. in Business Administration, Alcorn previously taught in the Business and Management program within the College of Professional Schoolsas an adjunct professor.
- CCV-Winooski student Ally Guizler has been selected as a semifinalist for the Cooke Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship. Through this award, the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation supports high-achieving community college students as they transfer to four-year institutions. Each Cooke Scholar has access to financial support, college planning support, and ongoing advising.
- CCV-Brattleboro students Kayla Pendlebury and Shelby Hubler celebrated the completion of their Medical Assisting apprenticeships at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital on January 31st, when they were matched with their new workplace practices. Congratulations, Kayla and Shelby!
- Faculty member Kimberly Quinn-Smith gave her second TEDx talk called “No Need to Fix Me: I’m Not Broken” on December 19 at the University of Washington, DC. Quinn-Smith teaches psychology courses, including a Trauma course and Positive Psychology, at CCV-Newport, CCV-St. Albans, and CCV-Morrisville and has done so for ten years.
