- CCV’s associate dean of workforce education Tiffany Walker joined host Ric Cengeri on WDEV’s “Vermont Viewpoint” to talk about the success of the CRF workforce initiative (at 45:00).
- Alongside a friend, CCV student Colby Mason launched a new business during quarantine. District North is an apparel brand that represents where they grew up: Vermont. Mason and Harvey teamed up with two mentors from SCORE, a partner of the U.S. Small Business Administration.
- Alumna Stephanie LaBarron has been named the new VP of ambulatory and provider services at Copley Hospital. LaBarron received an associate degree in liberal arts with a focus on information technology and health sciences from CCV and now has more than 16 years of experience in healthcare.
- CCV graduate Jamie Blanchard has received a promotion at the Manchester Police Department. Blanchard earned an associate degree in criminal justice from CCV and was recently promoted to the position of lieutenant, the second-in-command at the police department, after working there since 2007.
- CCV President Joyce Judy spoke to the Rutland Herald about the opportunities students received at CCV during the COVID pandemic. Thanks to the gift from the McClure Foundation, barriers of entry into college were reduced for over 600 Vermont 2020 high school graduates. “I am a believer that education is one of those things that will change a person’s trajectory,” Judy said. “If we can do everything we can to help that, Vermont and Vermonters will be much better off.” Read the full article here.
- CCV partnered with ShiftMeals to bring the Everyone Eats Program to Winooski. This program offers free food to anyone impacted by COVID-19. Meals were distributed to the community from the CCV-Winooski center on January 29, and will again be distributed on February 5 and 12.
