Faculty member Roger Cranse announces one recent and one forthcoming publication. The personal essay “Looper” appears in the spring 2019 issue of Jenny, and the personal essay “National Newark and Essex” will appear in the summer 2019 issue of Hinterland Magazine. Cranse teaches Introduction to Literature and English Composition classes in Montpelier.
The Rutland academic center hosted Cafe CCV, a biannual showcase of student artwork, on April 26th. This spring’s event featured work from Ceramics, Painting I, Body Awareness and Yoga, and Adobe Creative Cloud.
Faculty member Briana Martin is one of three recipients of a Fulbright Award at the University of Vermont. She is headed to McGill University in Montreal for a Master’s of Social Work with a concentration in Gender and Women’s Studies. Martin teaches Dimensions of Self & Society at CCV-Winooski.
CCV-Morrisville’s Level Up students hosted a wellness day for the Morrisville community on Saturday, May 4th. Over 175 people attended, and participants enjoyed a barbecue lunch, art projects, capture the flag, and a multi-generational kickball game. Level Up provides special incentives and support for young male students at CCV-Morrisville.
Recent CCV graduate C. Casarico’s first book was published by Onion River Press. The Rose Petal is a fantasy filled with magic, vampires, and human connections. It’s the first in a planned series of five books.
Faculty member Melissa Kate Adams and her American Sign Language class at CCV-Bennington hosted game nights for the Bennington community every Thursday in April. Guests were able to learn about deaf culture and deaf history, share, and meet new people through sign language.
St. Johnsbury coordinator of academic services Leanne Porter recently joined the Board of Let’s Grow Kids, which works to strengthen early childhood education in Vermont.
CCV-Winooski hosted its 19th annual International Food Festival on April 11th. The festival brings together students, staff, faculty, and community members to celebrate cultural and culinary diversity. Read the full story here.
