MONTPELIER, Vt. — Community College of Vermont (CCV) Director of Business Engagement Michael Keogh has been named a regional director for the National Council for Continuing Education and Training (NCCET).
NCCET provides a unified voice for community, technical, and junior colleges to promote the value of workforce and continuing education to national leaders and local communities. The organization supports its member institutions with resources such as webinars, trainings, conferences, and certified curriculum. Beginning this spring, Keogh is serving as regional director for NCCET’s New England region.
“Mike’s prior experience in finance, entrepreneurship, and strategic planning make him extraordinarily well-suited for the unscripted role of regional director,” said Ed Harper, executive director of NCCET. “We expect the needs of each region to be so uniquely different, that it will require an entrepreneurial business planner like Mike to lead his schools to success in continuing education and training.”
As director of business engagement for CCV, Keogh is focused on helping Vermont businesses create sound workforce development strategies. NCCET membership will allow the College to expand and deepen its workforce education offerings through greater connection with national and regional partners and increased access to programs and certifications that have potential for adoption in Vermont.
“I’m excited about the opportunity to work more closely with our workforce and continuing education colleagues from across the country, and the potential to bring new programs and resources to our communities here in Vermont,” said Keogh. “Being able to leverage the collective resources of NCCET members in addition to the direct support provided through NCCET membership will help us identify and deliver new programs, create new partnerships, and provide more opportunities for Vermonters.“
