Community College of Vermont to Hold 51st Commencement on June 2 in Northfield

The Community College of Vermont (CCV) will hold its 51st commencement ceremony at Norwich University’s Shapiro Field House in Northfield, Vermont on Saturday, June 2. The ceremony will begin at 2:00 p.m.

With just one week to go in the spring semester, CCV is gearing up for graduation! We’ll celebrate the class of 2018 at this year’s commencement on Saturday, June 2 at Norwich University. In the meantime, here’s the April news!

Where I Wanted to Go

Belle Kidder was 14 when she took Introduction to College Studies (ICS) at Fair Haven Union High School—she was the only freshman in the class. “When I signed up I had no idea what I was getting myself into,” said Kidder, who had been homeschooled before joining the class at Fair Haven.

In honor of the warmth that's surely on its way, we’re kicking off this edition of Notable Now with a beach scene painted by Senior Administrative Assistant Kim Barbour at Morrisville’s March 23rd Paint Night! The event raised $360 for the Morrisville Student Assistance Fund. Happy Spring!

CCV Awards $13,000 to Student Leaders

Family was a powerful theme at Friday’s Leadership Luncheon at CCV-Montpelier. Despite last week’s storm, students, staff, and family members traveled from all corners of the state to gather for the annual luncheon with President Joyce Judy.

CCV Student Receives $2,500 Medical Assisting Scholarship

Community College of Vermont (CCV) student Melissa Buffum received a $2,500 medical assisting scholarship from the Brattleboro Rotary Club Gateway Foundation at a March 1st award ceremony at CCV’s Brattleboro academic center.

CCV Offers First Green Production Credential

Community College of Vermont’s first Green Production course is underway, with 34 students enrolled at seven CCV locations statewide. The six-week online course is an additional module of the Certified Production Technician (CPT) program, which provides a nationally-recognized credential in the field of manufacturing.

Seven new medical assistants started work at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital (BMH) this week. Eilidh Pederson, vice president of the BMH Medical Group, says they’re stepping into crucial roles.
