Alumni News – May 2022

We’re pleased to share the latest edition of updates from alumni about what they’ve done since graduating from CCV. Alumni are encouraged to share their news by filling out the alumni update form.

Adam Annunziata ’20, Business Administration
Adam began a career as a business counselor at a local non-profit after graduation. It is a great job with great benefits and it was made possible through his education at CCV!

Caton Deuso ’18, Liberal Studies
Castleton University ’20, Media & Communication
Caton graduated from Castleton in the spring of 2020 with concentrations in media studies and journalism. During their time at Castleton, Caton was heavily involved on campus through writing stories for the student-led newspaper The Spartan, helping with the Campus Activities Board, and fulfilling their job as treasurer of the Congress branch of the Student Government Association. During the summer of 2019, Caton remained on campus for a job in the marketing and communication department and was a student orientation leader. After graduation, Caton worked for Lifetouch National Studios until they received their current job with NYVTmedia in Granville, NY as the lead reporter and front page designer for the Whitehall Times and a collaborator on other papers. CCV provided Caton with the general education they would have obtained from a four-year education at a better price. They were also able to take classes full-time while also working locally. 

Nicole Beaudoin ’21, Business
Nicole recently became the new listing coordinator at Coldwell Banker Hickok and Boardman, and she is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in marketing and communication at Champlain College Online.

Samuel Hayden ’20, Liberal Studies
University of Vermont, Art History
After graduating from CCV Samuel attended UVM, where he will eventually complete a master’s degree in art history. He was nominated to the board of directors for CRAG-VT, a local non-profit dedicated to preserving access to Vermont’s many rock-climbing areas. In addition, he wrote a guidebook for a bouldering area in Southern Vermont which will be published this fall and edits a weekly podcast called the Mindful Mama Podcast. In April of 2021, he started a contract at Spartan Races Inc. as their digital asset manager, where he organizes, categorizes, and manages all of their video content. This fall, Spartan TV, a network which Samuel had a hand in establishing, will be launching.

Adrianne Hutchin ’19, Science & Criminal Justice
Northern Vermont University ’21
Adrianne graduated summa cum laude, received the Alumni Council Outstanding Senior Award, top graduating senior thesis award in Criminal Justice and Global Studies, and top graduating senior award in Criminal Justice and Global Studies. This is the first time in two decades one senior received all four awards. Adrianne was inducted into the Alpha Lambda and Arthur B. Miller honor societies. She has been featured in VTDigger twice.

Karen (Steever) St. John ’12, Multimedia Communications
Johnson State College ’16, Childhood Education
After graduating from CCV, Karen attended Johnson State College and graduated summa cum laude in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in childhood education. She has been teaching at Flood Brook School in Londonderry, VT since 2016.

Chelsea King ’15, Liberal Studies
Chelsea joined The National Society of Collegiate Scholars.

Marissa Reed ’15, Applied Science
Johnson State College/Northern Vermont University ’20, Bachelor’s in Psychology
Less than two years after graduating from CCV, Marissa started a new job as a housing advocate with Rutland County’s Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency. A month after starting this new position, Marissa got married. She graduated with her bachelor’s in psychology last year, and as of two months ago she purchased her first home. Everyday Marissa continues to learn new things and develop a better understanding of what is occurring in the community, and how she can better assist others. Marissa doesn’t believe she would be where she is today without the assistance, encouragement, and education that she received from CCV.

Kristen Walters ’15, Administrative Management
After graduating from CCV in 2015, Kristen went through a couple different jobs until she found the right one for her. She began working as an administrative assistant for a Vermont-based investment firm and was recently promoted to an investment administrator. Kristen is currently working full-time while also balancing being a first-time mom and wife. She and her husband tied the knot on December 8, 2018. Nearly two years later, she gave birth to a premature baby boy born on December 4, 2020 at 31 weeks. He is now almost 8 months old and thriving! Life after CCV has been pretty good to Kristen!

Angela Biathrow ’20, Criminal Justice
Norwich University, Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice
Angela is currently attending Norwich University and working on her bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. Her plans after Norwich are to attend law school and go on to practice criminal law.
